China blocks UN action against Masood Azhar; India expresses disappointment

External Affairs Ministry said India will continue to pursue all available avenues to ensure that leaders of terror groups involved in heinous attacks on Indian citizens are brought to justice

Current Affairs: India Wednesday communicated dissatisfaction not long after China blocked one more move at the United Nations to assign Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed's boss Masood Azhar as a "worldwide fear based oppressor".
"We are disillusioned by this result. This has averted activity by the universal network to assign the pioneer of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), a prohibited and dynamic fear based oppressor association which has asserted obligation regarding the psychological oppressor assault in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14," the MEA said.
Without naming China, it said the UN's 1267 Sanctions Committee was not ready to go to a choice on the proposition for posting Azhar by virtue of a part putting the proposition on hold.Continue Reading
