Lok Sabha 1st phase candidates: 32% crorepatis, 17% facing criminal charges

Nearly half of all candidates have declared they have a graduate degree or above, while 1.5% have declared they are just literate, and 5.2% that they are illiterate

Elections:Of the hopefuls challenging the primary period of Lok Sabha decisions, 213 (17%) have pronounced they are confronting criminal cases, of which 146 (12%) face genuine criminal accusations, according to an investigation of applicants' sworn statements by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).
About a third (32%) or 401 of 1,266 hopefuls whose oaths were examined have proclaimed resources worth Rs 1 crore or more. Among the significant gatherings, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) are remarkable for having every one of the (25 from TDP and 17 from TRS) 'crorepati' applicants.
About portion of all competitors have proclaimed they have an advanced education or above, while 1.5% have pronounced they are simply proficient, and 5.2% that they are uneducated.
About 33% of competitors are matured somewhere in the range of 25 and 40 years, while the greater part are somewhere in the range of 41 and 60 years.Read More
