Wistron Corp has begun manufacturing iPhone 7 in India, confirms Apple

It was earlier touted that Apple may also produce iPhone 8 and higher models locally, but that has not been confirmed so far

Technology News:One of Apple's key makers, Wistron Corp, has started producing iPhone 7 locally in India, Apple has affirmed. The handset is being made out of its office at Narasapura in Kolar area, on the edges of Bengaluru. Prior just iPhone 6s and SE models were made out of the unit.
"We are glad to deliver iPhone 7 in Bengaluru for our nearby clients assisting our long haul duty in India," an Apple India representative said in a messaged articulation.
That it would create higher-end gadgets was foreseen when Wistron reported designs to open the Narasapura office, its second in India after Peenya, in June 2018. The Taiwanese contract producer, which additionally makers for Xiaomi and Nokia, has taken up a 43-section of land package and plans to put Rs3,000 crore in the unit in a staged way.Read More
